Trail Grand Opening Recap

On December 11th, we hosted a grand opening event to celebrate the opening of our central pond trail in the Park. County Commissioner, Bryan Desloge and LCRDA Immediate Past Chair, David Ramsay both provided remarks. Lucy and Leo’s cupcakes were on site.

TechGrant Program Opens on January 13th

On January 13th, the 2020 TechGrant Competition application becomes available! Each year LCRDA gives $25,000 in grants split between two local startups to help them commercialize their technology. Since 2005, 27 companies have benefitted from $462,000.

Congratulations Dean Murray Gibson for Being Named a Fellow of the National Academy of Inventors

FAMU-FSU College of Engineering Dean Murray Gibson was named a Fellow of the National Academy of Inventors (NAI) earlier this month. He holds five U.S. patents in techniques for semiconductor layer growth, including a patent on a novel technique for electron beam lithography that led to one spin-off company. His work at Bell Labs on semiconductor epitaxial growth has become important in the development of today’s advanced semiconductor devices used in the manufacture of electronics.

Seminole Legacy Golf Club Update

For those who have been asking about when the Seminole Golf Course will be open again: The course is scheduled to open in the Spring of 2020. The organization launched its initial membership program called “Inside the Ropes”, which will be available until January 9th. There are several different types of memberships, and there’s also a discount for FSU Faculty and Staff.

FSU Researchers Pushed Scientific and Creative Boundaries in 2019

FSU had a very busy year in research and creative activity. FSU faculty received record funding and made headlines with their work. Researchers at the MagLab were even nominated by Physics World as a Breakthrough of the Year Finalist for 2019 for their “Little Big Coil” that reaches 45.5 T.

Beginning on Monday, January 6th, we will  have a new Monday Food Truck combo! Manoba Vegan Foods and Smoothie Time will be here from 11:00am-2:00pm serving the Park. Start your New Year off right with a healthy Monday lunch! The rest of the popular weekly Food Truck lineup will stay the same.
