FSU Pledges $5.6M To Help Build North Florida Innovation Labs

Florida State University pledged several millions of dollars in capital commitments to help build Innovation Park’s Research and Technology Incubator. The funding will help The Park move forward with construction of the 40,000 square-foot standalone facility that will attract startups and companies who are growing. Read more.

New Members of LCRDA

We would like to welcome our two newest members to the Leon County Research and Development Authority (LCRDA) in Innovation Park.
Brian Bautista was appointed by Leon County, and Dr. Mark Riley serves as the alternate designee for Florida State University.
Bautista and Riley will help drive the vision for The Park and its future, along with the other Board of Governors.

COAPS Team Receives $9M to Improve Forecast of Ocean Currents

FSU researchers received almost $9M from the National Academies of Sciences, Engineering and Medicine’s Gulf Research Program to improve predictions of water currents in the Gulf of Mexico that impact critical oil and gas infrastructure, fisheries, weather and more. Learn more

Senior Design Day at FAMU-FSU COE

The FAMU-FSU College of Engineering recently hosting its “Engineering Senior Design Day” at the school. At the event, students show off projects, prototypes, and research they’ve been working on all year, and shows the community the talent that is soon entering the workforce. Learn more.

MagLab Expands Past Magnets to Show How Sense of Belonging Creates STEM Success

The MagLab recently published a new study that shows the importance of positive science and math stories as a resilience for women of color in STEM. The study shows that positive emotions are a critical tool in building students’ resilience when challenges arise. Read more.
