Innovation Park of Tallahassee is north Florida’s premier research park. The Park is a dynamic and collaborative community with over 30 different organizations ranging from preeminent university research facilities, to specialty manufacturing companies, to state and federal government research facilities. The operations of organizations located in Innovation Park must align with or support the Park’s mission to promote the region’s research and development assets and foster the attraction, startup, and growth of private innovative companies that create high wage jobs in Leon County.

Innovation Park is home to many one-of-a-kind facilities that offer world-class research assets focused on magnetics, aeropropulsion, materials, energy, health and life sciences.
Park Location
Innovation Park is conveniently located within minutes from Florida State University, Florida A&M University, Tallahassee Community College, the bustling Gaines Street district, the upcoming Railroad Square district and the center of Florida State’s capitol complex.
Park Size
Innovation Park sits on 208 acres, and includes 17 buildings with over 1 million sq. ft. of space. Several acres of land are available for long term lease and development.
Peaceful Business Environment
While located minutes from several hot spots in Tallahassee, Innovation Park is nestled among scenic woods and rolling hills, with Spanish moss-draped live oaks, and includes a serene central lake; features that exemplify the Florida capital’s unique southern charm. A trail around the central pond will also provide residents with a great place to walk, meet fellow Innovation Park residents, alleviate stress and overall boost productivity and innovation. The trail is expected to be constructed in 2017.

Events and Programs
One of Innovation Park’s objectives is to be an inviting place to live, work and play. The Park currently hosts a number of different programs for the community, as well as the general public. There are several other vibrant events and programs in the works for the near future. Many of the programs currently offered provide opportunities for networking and increased awareness of innovative research and development within the community.
High-Tech Business Incubator
Jumpstart is Innovation Park’s upcoming business incubator for start-ups and second stage businesses. The incubator space will include wet labs, dry labs, makerspace/prototyping equipment and space for light assembly/manufacturing businesses. Jumpstart will be a great resource that helps support the entrepreneurial ecosystem in Tallahassee, and is expected to open in 2017.
Park Leadership
Innovation Park is overseen by the Leon County R&D Authority, a State Special District. The Authority works in highly valued partnerships with higher education institutions Florida State University, Florida A&M University, and Tallahassee Community College, as well as with government and private sector representatives, to guide the growth and development of the Park. The Park receives no tax dollars and all funding comes from lease related revenue.
